Because of you three of our youth group outreach kids are having a Christmas tonight. We are so excited! They are even more!
These are title 1 teens that had no plans for Christmas Eve, let alone any presents. We posted on FB and Twitter with a gofundme, and so many of you responded and responded big! You are their Santa this year. More importantly you are reminding them that they are not alone and that someone believes in them. They were so surprised tonight!
These teenagers are getting multiple outfits including new shoes, pants, dress shirts, polo shirts, hygiene products, and even socks! One youth recently had to leave home and we were able to provide bedding and a lamp. I’m excited because they will be wearing these clothes to scholarship meetings with college counselors, interview meetings with employers, and school functions through out the upcoming weeks. That’s huge!
I am seriously brought to tears because you get it. When you see a teenager, you see the potential of what they can do now and given the opportunity what they can do for the community in years to come. They just need someone to believe in them. That’s legacy building!
This Christmas season, continue to look around to see who needs help, encouragement, and a little bit of grace. One of my favorite quotes that I live by is this:
Preach the Gospel at all times. When necessary, use words. -St. Francis of Assisi.
This Christmas we are living that quote out! These teens have enjoyed a Christmas Eve dinner, opened presents with our kids, and now drinking coffee discussing what Christmas means to them. It’s been great…because of you!
