Ever wonder if you are doing the right thing? Am I at the right place, doing the right thing, at the right time? It’s a tough question to ask when you are at a crossroads. We all say, pray about it, and I think that is a very legit and wise thing to do but the Bible takes it a step further. The key to the next step is found in Psalm 139:23-24:
“Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I’m about; See for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong— then guide me on the road to eternal life.”
Notice the “guide me” part is the very last part of the verse. Before you make any decision, it’s crucial to make sure you are open to know the steps are from God. Ask God to examine your why, let him hear your why, and then finally make sure it lines up with His Word. Next step is to listen and to ask for His peace that comes with making a good decision. THEN and only then let him guide you (emphasis on the word: then!).
Stop. Breathe. Pray. Read. Listen. Decide.
