Throwing Tacos for Teenagers!
What’s better than driving around all over San Antonio for two hours blasting “We Like To Party” in a van with your family with the windows rolled down in tiger and husky costumes?
Having your own kids excited and making signs witnessing, your wife throwing breakfast tacos, and seeing teenagers overcome with emotional happiness! Even their parents got into it.
Today, we had church. We had an awesome opportunity to bless some of the kids in our youth group. Not only were they very surprised and thrilled, but we got to share how to give back to our own kids, creatively. No one got out of the van and the teens stayed in their drive ways. We pulled up in a tiger suit (Tiger King anyone?) and a Husky suit (teens go to Holmes HS), windows rolled down blasting music, our boys hanging out the windows with “We love y’all” signs, and my wife throwing tacos. We stayed for a minute, threw a taco, said good morning, and sped off! Then we followed it up with a text reminding them they aren’t alone even though they are quarantined.
This is what we need more in the world right now. I beg you to do something special for somebody else today. Follow the guidelines of quarantine and get creative. The only way we will get through this is by prayer and speaking life. So pray and ask God how you can help, and then speak life by doing it!
