It’s About Others
To often we make it about us. I this. Me that. We focus on us. We want everyone to hear about us.
Paul doesn’t do that. He opens up his letter from a Roman jail cell acknowledging who he was talking too. Instead of please help us, or this is horrible…instead he talks about how he is praising God for the reader.
That’s huge. During a major crisis in his life and ministry, he still is out there encouraging others. That is amazing. Are we doing the same thing right now? Are we taking the time to reach out and bless people around us during a pandemic crisis? Or are we shutting ourselves off from blessing others because life isn’t fair.
My prayer is that our house will bless others through the storm. My prayer is that our youth will be bless others the storm. My prayer is that You will bless others during the storm. Tonight I preached on God’s faithfulness with or without Annies test results coming back positive or negative. God has given you a powerful testimony and a bullhorn to share it. Now is the time, not when everything is perfect! (Side note…it will never be perfect!)
“Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God’s Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present. There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.”
Lord I pray that through it all, I can share who you are. You are the same God when we enter a hospital as well as when we leave it. You are the same God when we get the promotion as well as when we get laid off. You are the same God, no matter our situations. May we always rejoice and trust you from our quarantine prison cells to our next family vacation!
I’m begging you, testify who God is today. It will make an impact!
