He Is For You
Take a moment and watch this incredible song by Kari Jobe & Elevation Worship entitled “The Blessing”
The Lord bless you and keep you
Make His face shine upon you
And be gracious to you
The Lord turn His face toward you
And give you peace
-Kari Jobe & Elevation Worship “The Blessing”
I can use His blessings tonight. I can use His face shining upon me. I could use an extra dose of peace. See, I’m trying. I’m trying to support my kids and work while keeping them occupied. I’m trying to support my wife teaching her students and our own kids (she really is a miracle worker!). I’m trying to do something special each day for my family. I’m trying to give peace for my team at work who are battling fears of paychecks and missed office time. I’m trying to remind our seniors in my youth group that God has them and not forsaken them. We spent almost two hours encouraging and praying for them last night online. I’m trying to not be afraid myself. I’m trying to encourage you, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn…to keep the faith in God and use my blog to spread His love as much as possible.
Notice I said “I’m trying” in every statement. I will fail. I have failed. And I will fail again. I forget that at times. But God doesn’t fail.
Our favor is impossible to have. Our presence doesn’t do much long term. But His does. His favor goes further than anything we can do. His presence is greater than any emotional feeling we can have.
May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
And your family and your children
And their children and their children
May His presence go before you
And behind you and beside you
All around you and within you
He is with you he is with you
In the morning in the evening
In your coming and your going
In your weeping and rejoicing
He is for you He is for you
-Kari Jobe & Elevation Worship “The Blessing”
So instead of it being about me trying to accomplish these things, I am flipping the script to letting God do those things! Im asking for God’s favor for us, His face to shine on us, His peace to fill our spirits , and His presence to fill our voids. He is for you. Let that soak in…He is for you. We got this, because He has this!
