Scrap wood into Masterpieces

It all started with 4 pieces of scrap wood and 3hrs later it was transformed into art! There were multiple steps involved. In fact we had to break off some points, dent some places, pound out edges, and even scratch off the shine. The wood then got stained all over and had nails driven through it. Following that it was covered in tape, painted, and stained again. Finally a wax was put on it to dull the appearance. It was a lot of work but it was a process that led to the next step.

It made me think about our lives. We are all like those 4 pieces of scrap wood. We’ve all been broken and tossed at some point. Life hurts. We have dents, scrapes, and emotional bruises. We have even been stained and lost our shine.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

That’s where God comes in. He takes our broken selves and transforms us into His masterpiece. Sure the process isn’t easy. You might be wondering why you are having to go through so much turmoil. But know this, He is always working to help you. Regardless of how many stains, dents, and screws have been placed in you through the years, He wants to transform you!

Just like Annie and I were focused and had a goal in mind for our scraps of wood, God is focused on us. He will take your scraps and turn them into art.

Sit at the carpenters table today. Be molded and transformed! You will be amazed at the results!
