Ask For Help
I want to say thank you. I posted last night about our daughter Grace on social media. The nurses called her a princess warrior in the nicu and every day she proves it, even 2yrs later! Last night she had a fever, nothing but coughs, very heavy congestion, and got sick twice while trying to breathe. Her oxygen levels were low and we had to decide to take her to the hospital right there and then or see if the prescription meds would kick in. Everything mentioned above is a recipe for disaster, even more so when you have cystic fibrosis.
I took to social media and called out for prayer. I also called out for praise because God is reminding me to praise Him through the storm and not just after it. Immediately my phone began to light up with prayer warriors posting prayers, liking, or sending DM’s. It was such a great reminder that we aren’t alone.
How often do you ask people for help? I’m not talking about the occasional, hey do you a quarter at the vending machine help! I’m referring to the “hey look y’all I’m desperate to see God move tonight because only He can do it” cries for help!
The Bible talks a lot about helping others:
“Joshua did what Moses ordered in order to fight Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went to the top of the hill. It turned out that whenever Moses raised his hands, Israel was winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, Amalek was winning. But Moses’ hands got tired. So they got a stone and set it under him. He sat on it and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on each side. So his hands remained steady until the sun went down. Joshua defeated Amalek and its army in battle.”
Exodus 17:10-13 MSG
It’s good to ask for help. Without Aaron and without Hur helping Moses, the battle would have been lost. There were more than a hundred people praying for Grace last night and this morning. That’s some powerful ministry happening. The Bible talks about when having two or more gathered in His name, that He would be there…..well He was in her room last night! And she is not at the hospital today!
So thank you family. Know that you are in this fight against cystic fibrosis with us and it means the world to us. Community is key! Prayer is the key! We got this!
